Filming of ANGRY is completed and we’re now going into post-production. Yohanna Idha, Christopher Stone and Bo Svenson made a wonderful job here in Falun, and we all had a great time! This was one of the most fun experiences we’ve had, and our thanks go out to the cast and crew that made this possible.
The material looks great – truly beautiful pictures – with stunning acting from tremendously dedicated actors.
Media has been all over us, and even though we’re all tired, we’ll now head into post and finish the film for our release later this year. Be back soon to check out the trailer!
We are very happy to be able to give you the great news that Bo Svenson (KILL BILL, INGLORIOUS BASTERDS) has joined the cast of Angry.
Bo Svenson is of course well known today for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s movies Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds, but he is also Swedish and for us it is a wonderful opportunity to work with such a great star. If you want to watch something with Bo, then take a look at Dolph Lundgren’s new film Icarus, which seems really cool. Bo Svenson has a large role in that one, and he looks truly mean!
Swedish media has been all over this news since Angry is Bo Svenson’s first Swedish produced film in 30 years! We are very proud to be the ones that brings Bo back to Sweden – even for a brief amount of time.
Two days of difficult – but extremely fun – shooting! We made some hard takes, cool re-writes on the set and rebuilt to be able to move the camera as Ola Paulakoski (the director) wanted to. I’m very very happy with the result – it just looks amazing.
Posted below are five production stills from the feature film ANGRY. The next three weeks we’re completing the set to be able to start shooting again on August 2:nd.
Be back soon to see our teaser trailer. Also, Ola is preparing a production diary where you will be able to follow our production.
Currently we’re building some of the sets for ANGRY. We’re scheduled to shoot in beginning of August, and so far everything is going according to plans. It’s fun to make a Swedish horror film, aimed for the international audience with English language, Alaska setting and a cool story!
Swedish newspaper Expressen writes today (only in Swedish – sorry, try the Google Translate) about how movie stars often start their careers in the horror genre, and they ask “Why?”. Well, isn’t it obvious? It’s the best way to learn film, it’s an easy genre to sell – but it is also great fun!
PenguinFilms’ production of ANGRY is low-budget, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without valuable help from selected companies. Please visit our sponsors’ websites and support them!
Reel Logix provides us with their scheduling software Production Calendar.
Sågmyra Herrgård and Restaurang China Thai in Falun provides us with catering.
We want to extend our thanks to these companies who help us with much valuable support during our production.
Angry goes into pre-production in April and we will then be able to upload pictures, videos and other information about the film. Today we can however show you our first One Page!
Download and spread it freely – let everybody know that Angry is coming in December 2010! We have already talks going on with a few distributors, one which is theatrical. Currently, we are securing actors and locations. More on that as it is progressing.
Some things are official though, and that is that I (J. Pingo Lindström) is producing and writing, Ola Paulakoski will direct, Magnus Hammar will be director of Photography and Yohanna Idha will star. We are also very happy to confirm that both Xiao Chao Zhong as our executive producer and UK-based co-producer, David Bowles, head of Unizarre International Film & TV Productions, are with us!
Be back soon to read more about our feature film Angry!
PenguinFilms has over the years struggled with short-films and other movie production projects, but never got a complete feature film off the ground and into production. Now, with the help of a new executive producer, we are finalizing contracts and preparing for our first feature film production with the (work) name “Angry”!
Angry is a psychological horror feature set in Alaska during our current economical crisis, and the story revolves around realtor Jane who meets Danny – a terrible person who lost everything.
We intend to shoot Angry during July/August for a December premiere.
Here on the PenguinFilms blog we will update as often as we can with production news, photos, videos, test-films, scene-cuts and lots of other information.
Angry is produced, written and edited by J. Pingo Lindström. The film will be directed by Ola Paulakoski and star Yohanna Idha.
